Adam Patterson is a multidisciplinary theatre artist and actor based in New York City, where he shares an apartment with a cat named Rock Hudson.
He was born in West Virginia- the youngest of three children sprung from a pair of high school sweethearts. His parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2019. He was moved to North Carolina at the age of ten, where he focused on regular kid stuff (like Ninja Turtles and maintaining his extensive shoe collection) until he discovered theatre in the seventh grade. He went on to study acting at Boston’s Emerson College, where he received a BFA in face-making.
Adam is a classically trained actor as comfortable in a doublet as he is in downtown experimental work. He has worked for and collaborated with some of the most badass artists in the country. He performed in LaMama’s award winning 55th season, played Conrad Veidt in the Drama Desk nominated CasablancaBox at HERE, studied at Shakespeare & Company in Massachusetts, and is a founding member of Manhattan’s New Place Players. A skilled collaborator, Adam has been involved with devised work at Dartmouth College and the Berkshire Fringe.
He is also an avid fan of horror movies, possesses an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the work of Dolly Parton, has a keen eye for jewelry, and listens to NPR.
